KyLee is a young girl who is the first of a powerful new Mystic breed. Ancient Spirits endow KyLee with powers to rid the planet of the evil sorceress Sharmaka, who had been responsible for the destruction of the first Mystics. Before KyLee can be inducted as a full Mystic, Sharmaka kidnaps her from her village called Tarmel.

Escape is impossible as she, along with many from her village cross the desert to the city of Sagan. KyLee’s only encouragement comes from her telepathic contact with her Mystic Spirit mentor. She remains in constant contact with her Spirit Master, who urges her to use the wind over the desert to send a ‘mind-talk’ message for help.

Her calls lead four men to her rescue. Devon, Toran and twin brothers, Roardel and Gordel who inherited their mind-talk ability from their ancestors. This rescue exacts a heavy toll. No one will be the same again.

KyLee must fight for others’ lives as well as her own life. She struggles to control her uninitiated powers and new found feelings as she pursues her goal to reach Castle Myst and become a full and true Mystic of the Realm.

After the defeat of Sharmaka KyLee and Devon take to living quietly and happily in Onez.  However, after the death of KyLee friend May, they are thrust into a world of madness, misused magic, wizards, a crystal dragon, and the discovery of the second Mystic of the New Breed.

May’s only son Javas goes mad after the death of his mother and blames KyLee for not saving the elderly woman with the power she possesses.  After he attacks KyLee and attempts for murder her, he is severely maimed and disappears into the forests of Onez.

A kindly woman comes across the badly injured young man and feels pity.  She takes him with her back to the castle high in the Neza Mountains owned by Master Wizard Valeedus.  Reluctantly, he heals Javas’s wounds with the help of crystals, but is unable to heal the madness within his mind.

After stealing the Master Wizard’s power, Javas kidnaps Devon in what he feels is revenge for his mother’s death.

Accompanied by Toran, KyLee braves the climb to the peak where the castle sits in a desperate attempt to save the man she loves and the balance she needs.

Roardel and Gordel are left behind to protect Onez and its people from whatever Javas may send their way.  And as KyLee fights for the lives of others, they too must struggle to survive.
